The area is a hotspot for tourism and is one of Ireland’s number one destinations. It lies on the south bank of the River Liffey. It is believed that ‘Temple Bar’ street’s name originated from ‘Sir William Temple’ from the ‘Temple family (you can see the same on the outer wall of the pub) The most iconic pub in Dublin, the Temple Bar Pub, sits proudly on the corner of Temple Bar and Temple Lane South. With live music from 10:30 am every day, this is a pub with a party atmosphere all day long. I was amused at how many people popped in, snapped off a quick photo or a 30-second video, and then left without stopping for a drink. Then again, at €8 a pint, and it’s one of the more expensive drinks in an already expensive city ( and I did the same in 2-3 pubs), and that’s fine. Doesn’t matter whether you wanna have food or drink here or not, but I would definitely recommend (in capital letters), have one drink here. Yes, it's expensive (just 3-4 euros more, come on), but the vibe, that’s totally worth it. I truly believe, though, that if you’re going to experience Dublin, then you can’t leave without experiencing Temple Bar. I had like 4-5 drinks at different pubs, and though it's touristy and “trap”- I would come here again and again. No other place has a “temple bar pub ‘ vibe. There is always live music, the stage is rarely empty, and the diary is always full. The Temple Bar Pub is famed throughout Dublin for its lively, traditional Irish music scene. PS: don’t get confused with Temple Bar at the end of every pub. Its neighborhood name (Temple bar neighborhood), and this pub is Temple Bar pub.

The Temple Bar Pub is one of those iconic places you simply have to experience when visiting Dublin. The atmosphere is exactly what you imagine from a classic Irish pub — lively music, energetic crowds, great drinks, and a unique character that makes the place unforgettable. Even though it’s very famous and usually busy, the experience still feels authentic and enjoyable. The live music creates an amazing vibe, and it’s a perfect place to enjoy a pint while soaking in the spirit of Dublin. Yes, it’s touristy, but there’s a reason everyone knows this place. It’s a true Dublin classic and definitely worth visiting at least once.

Recently visited this historic place in Dublin during an evening walk. The Temple Bar Pub is a true institution with an incredible atmosphere — live traditional music, a lively crowd, and that classic Irish vibe right in the heart of the city. Yes, it’s very touristy and always busy, but that energy is part of the experience. A few pints of Guinness here are simply unmatched. Definitely a must-visit when in Dublin. 🍺🎶

The Temple Bar Pub is definitely iconic. While I don’t always push highly touristy spots, this place is famous for a good reason, and you genuinely cannot miss it if you are visiting Dublin—even if you just stay for a single drink. The outside of the building looks amazing, popping with that classic vibrant red color, and when it lights up at night, it completely stands out. Once you step inside, the energy is electric all day and all night long. They feature fantastic live music and boast a massive, fully stocked bar. Because it's so incredibly popular, be prepared for it to be packed. It gets very crowded inside and can get quite hot, so just keep that in mind when planning your visit. While it might not be the kind of pub you visit every single night of your trip, it is an essential Dublin staple. It is well worth making at least one stop here just to sweat it out a bit and soak in the incredible atmosphere!

The Guinness here is solid — smooth, creamy, and consistently well poured. Not the cheapest pint in Dublin, but you’re paying for the experience. The atmosphere is the real highlight. Always buzzing with energy, live music going on, and a great mix of people from all over. It’s lively, a bit touristy, but still a fun place to soak it all in. Service can get a bit hectic when it’s packed, but that’s expected given how busy it gets. Good place to stop by, enjoy a pint, and experience one of Dublin’s most famous pubs at least once.

After a couple of attempts at night to get in and get a seat i finally got one today yay! 4pm mid week and the place was rocking. Yes its full of tourists and the prices are expenny like other bars in the area but the atmosphere was so alive and I challenge anyone to not have a good time in there. The live musicians change every few hours some play Irish music and some sing more mainstream songs regardless they are all good fun! So brave the crowds and get in to soak up some atmosphere.

Really lives up to expectations. The atmosphere, constant live music, you'll be speaking to people from all over the world you've never met before, the food looked lovely, overall it's expensive but honestly thats expected. One Guinness is €10.50. Traditional Irish music playing the entire time. Bar staff are friendly, service efficient, we went during the day and it was busy but we were able to get a seat at the bar and take in the atmosphere. I would highly recommend visiting here. I'd love to return and visit at evening/night. I look forward to my next visit.

Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪☘️ A must-do in Dublin, Temple Bar absolutely lives up to the hype. It’s much more than just a pub, it’s a historic hub of Irish culture. The outside is packed with people snapping photos (guilty 😎), while nearby pubs feel much quieter. I kicked things off with an Irish coffee and finished with a Guinness, perfect combo. Inside, it’s buzzing. Great energy, live Irish music, and a crowd that’s actually enjoying the moment. Felt like a mix of locals and visitors, all soaking up the vibe. Fun, lively, and full of character, ticks all the boxes-atmosphere, drinks, music, and great staff. Definitely worth it. ☘️🇮🇪

Fun atmosphere and during the day it was very family friendly. The staff was fantastic and super quick and helpful. One of the only places nearby to hear live music during the day. Food was excellent would recommend any of the sandwiches.

Great spot with a lively atmosphere! It does get a big crowded in the afternoon, but that's part of the bar's charm. The vibe is warm and energic, the people are open and friendly, and the beer is excellent! A classic Dublin experience worth stopping for!
